Alejandro Gutiérrez
Alejandro Gutiérrez is part of A.GAIN’s investment team and has been a Partner at RONDO, the firm’s football investment strategy, since its launch. In this role, he is involved in the structuring, execution and monitoring of transactions, with a particular focus on investments in football clubs.
Gutiérrez began his career at A.GAIN in the technology sector, where he is involved in investing in and managing companies, as well as in business development initiatives, working closely with management teams at different stages of growth. He also has experience managing long-term investment portfolios, combining strong capital allocation discipline with a strategic view of how assets evolve over time.
Gutiérrez holds a degree in Business Administration from the Quinlan School of Business in Chicago.

I try not to confuse activity with progress.
Investment can become a business where everyone feels like they have to react immediately. I’ve found the opposite is often true. The best decisions usually come from taking the time to understand what’s actually happening before trying to solve it.
That doesn’t mean moving slowly, but rather being deliberate.
Whether the incentives stay aligned over time.
I’ve worked with technology companies and now football clubs, and the industries couldn’t look more different. But the same principle keeps coming back. If owners, management, employees, and investors are pulling in different directions, it eventually shows up in the business.
The strongest organizations I’ve seen are the ones where everyone knows what success looks like and has a reason to work toward it together.
Situations where there’s no quick fix.
In football especially, it’s tempting to look for immediate results. I enjoy the work that takes longer: improving the underlying business, building the right processes, and making decisions that might not pay off until years later.
Those problems require patience, and that’s usually where the biggest opportunities are.
