Tenacity and a very practical bias toward execution. When the conventional path is not available, you create one. That was true as a founder, and it is still true as an investor. I like operating at the intersection of strategic vision and hands-on problem-solving, and I try to bring empathy to every conversation because the best leadership is grounded in understanding what people are actually up against.

I obsess over whether you are building real infrastructure for durable growth. In marketplaces especially, that means getting the fundamentals right: supply and demand equilibrium, trust, operational rigor, strategic partnerships, and a model that can scale without breaking. Long-term value comes from building something intuitive and accessible for users, but also from putting in the hard, less visible work that makes the business resilient over time.

I’m drawn to the problems that look messy, structural, or initially unsolvable. Early on, that meant tackling insurance in boat sharing, which was a real blocker for the entire category. More broadly, I like solving the foundational challenges that unlock an industry, whether that is trust and safety, partnerships, fundraising, or building the operating framework that lets a company scale globally. Those are usually the problems people avoid because they are hard, cross-functional, and take persistence, but they are also the ones that create the most leverage.
