I'm always building for the future. The digital assets space moves faster than almost any other, so you always have to be one step ahead, thinking about the next generation of founders, investors, and innovators. What was cutting-edge two years ago can be obsolete today. That constant forward motion is what energizes me. If I can stay one step ahead of where the ecosystem is heading, I can be genuinely useful to the people shaping it.
Building true value requires a deep understanding of the ecosystem you are building for. It’s not just about technology. You have to get into the fabric of how the space operates and evolves: understand the communities, the protocols, the incentive structures, the problems people face.
I think my experience of moving across continents, from Venezuela to Spain, makes my perspective somewhat unique. Growing up in Venezuela, where people have had very real, very personal relationships with monetary instability, and then building a career in Madrid, at the center of a rapidly maturing European digital assets market, really showed me the importance of deep ecosystem understanding. That range gives me a particular sensitivity to where genuine, durable value is being created versus where it's just noise.
I’m not afraid to roll up my sleeves. Early-stage project identification in digital assets is genuinely hard, and there are limited tools and resources available, or at least there weren’t a few years back! So I built one.
Over the years, I've developed a suite of proprietary, data-driven methods to identify high-potential projects before they gain mainstream visibility and to monitor their performance rigorously over time. We use these frameworks directly in Protein Capital's investment strategies across our Liquid Venture and Venture Capital Funds.
