Santos works on investment strategy and portfolio oversight at A.GAIN. He helps evaluate new opportunities, supports portfolio companies, and likes bringing structure to complex situations. Before A.GAIN, he worked at Walmart in analytical roles across commercial and logistics, where he developed forecasting and replenishment methods using machine learning, as well as market basket-style analysis to improve decision-making. He also serves on the board of Osigu, a Miami-based healthcare fintech. Santos holds a Master’s in Finance from UCEMA and a Bachelor’s degree from ITBA in Argentina.
I like to do the work early and stay close to the details. I’m pretty hands-on by nature, and I don’t like having a surface-level view of things. I’d rather understand how something really works before I form a strong opinion. With complex problems, I try to look at them from a few different angles first, since the obvious answer is rarely the complete one.
Consistency. Most long-term value is built quietly. It usually comes from making good decisions repeatedly, executing well, and avoiding unnecessary friction. I’m drawn to people and businesses that keep improving over time without losing focus on what actually matters.
I like complex problems, the kind where you have to look at things from different angles, separate signal from noise, and work through them patiently. Those are usually the situations where good judgment matters most. Being a Dad of three is definitely great training for that. You learn quickly how to adapt and keep your calm in the middle of the chaos. It’s a mindset that turns out to be surprisingly useful as an investor.
