Marketplaces & Platforms
Thesis
A.GAIN’s Marketplaces & Platforms strategy focuses on technology-enabled businesses that connect supply and demand and use network effects as part of their operating model. The strategy looks across markets with structural inefficiencies where platforms can improve how participants interact, transact and access products or services.Network effects can take different forms across the portfolio. For instance, CookUnity operates a chef-to-consumer meal platform across North America, connecting independent chefs with consumers through its technology, kitchen and delivery infrastructure. The company has also expanded its platform into B2B food solutions.Taiv provides technology that turns in-venue television screens into advertising networks across bars, restaurants and other commercial locations. Its platform connects venues and advertisers, with the network expanding as additional locations participate.Across the strategy, A.GAIN focuses on platforms where the interaction between participants forms a core part of the business model and supports the development of the network over time.
