Rodrigo Rodas
Rodrigo leads Meridian from Miami and has been with A.GAIN since 2020. He is an operator who invests. Rodrigo currently serves as CEO of NovoPayment, where he is leading a turnaround of the company’s fintech and payments infrastructure. Previously, he took over GPMX Group as CEO, restructured and grew the business, and ran a sale process that ended with EZCORP (NASDAQ: EZPW) acquiring the company. He stayed on and built Lana, a digital finance platform.
I default to saying the thing that needs to be said. Ambiguity has a cost, and in my experience it compounds faster than most people realize. The problems that end up being expensive almost always started as something obvious that nobody raised early enough.
The boring stuff. Compliance infrastructure, cost discipline, unit economics. Those are the things that either hold up under pressure or they don’t, and they’re always cheaper to get right the first time. I’ve run businesses across enough markets and cycles to know that the companies that survive are the ones that did the unglamorous work when it didn’t seem urgent.
The ones where everyone in the room knows something is broken but nobody wants to be the first to say it. Turnarounds. Regulatory tangles. Situations that require action, not another meeting. Those tend to be underpriced because most people find them uncomfortable, which is exactly why they’re worth doing.
